Introduction To The School
Lisa Thornley (MIDTA) began dancing at the age of 6yrs with the Rosalyn Wicks Theatre School.
At the age of 13 Lisa began to teach others to dance, by the age of 18 she had become a qualified dance teacher with the IDTA.
Her first dance classes were held at the Worsbrough Dale Parish Hall, starting with 3 pupils. Lisa continued to teach at this location until 1994, a total of 11yrs.
Having danced with Rosalyn Wicks as a child Lisa then went on to merge her school with Miss Wicks’s school, at Doncaster Road, Barnsley, she taught dance at this location for 6 more years.
In 2000 The Lisa Thornley School of Theatre Dance moved to it’s current modern location at Maple Estate off Stocks Lane, Barnsley. For directions please click here
